Chennai: A gang of five attacked a salon owner at his shop in Vadapalani on Wednesday. Police are yet to identify and arrest the suspects. Police said Balaji, 47, of Puliyur Housing Board in Vadapalani, runs a salon in the same locality. Police said Balaji separated from his first wife, remarried and has been living with his second wife Lavanya for the past four years. On Wednesday night, Balaji was sleeping inside his salon when five men arrived in an auto, broke into the shop and attacked him with knives. Hearing Balaji’s screams, his neighbours called police, who rushed him to KK Nagar govt hospital. Police are scrubbing CCTV footage from cameras in the area to identify the attackers. Police suspect the hands of Lavanya’s estranged husband in the attack.tnn
