One of the cars the SUV struck was severely damaged

Noida: Two people were injured and two cars were damaged after an SUV driver allegedly lost control of the car due to a burst tyre and crashed into multiple vehicles and pedestrians near Alpha 2 in Greater Noida on Tuesday.Police said they received a 112 call on Tuesday evening alleging an SUV struck several vehicles before crashing into people sitting by the roadside in Alpha 2. A team reached the spot and found the two injured persons, who were rushed to a nearby hospital. The victims both sustained minor injuries and were discharged by Wednesday.During investigation, cops found the SUV was being driven by a student who allegedly lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a turn after one of the car’s tyres burst. A senior police officer said that the SUV first collided with a Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire and a Maruti Suzuki Baleno before crashing into the area where people were seated near a road divider.The impact caused extensive damage to the front portion of the Swift Dzire, while the Baleno suffered comparatively minor damage. Videos of the aftermath circulated on social media, showing the damaged vehicles, broken chairs and police personnel at the scene.No police complaint was filed in the matter and the parties involved reached a mutual settlement, cops said. The SUV was seized and necessary legal formalities were conducted. The driver was released after questioning, police said, adding that further action would be taken if a complaint is filed or new evidence emerges.
