Handwara, June 22: A two year old girl died after allegedly falling into a water tub in the Kralgund area of Handwara on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Sibra Javid, daughter of Javid Iqbal Lone, a resident of Renin Kralgund. According to her mother’s statement, the child accidentally fell into a water tub at home and was rushed to Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara for treatment.
However, despite medical efforts, she was declared dead at the hospital. Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated necessary proceedings.
The tragic incident has left the family and relatives in deep grief.
Meanwhile, authorities have repeatedly advised parents and guardians to keep children away from water bodies, including canals, streams, ponds, and uncovered water storage containers, and to ensure constant supervision to prevent such accidents.
