Chatra: Bodies of two men were found from different police station areas in Chatra on Tuesday.In one incident, a 45-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a forested area near Kamta village under Tandwa police station limits on Tuesday morning.The deceased was identified as Tupa, alias Tuma Bhuiyan, a resident of Kamta village. According to police, he left home on Sunday to attend the weekly market at Tandwa but did not return. Worried family members lodged a missing complaint at the local police station and also searched for him in nearby areas and relatives’ houses.On Tuesday (March 3) morning, villagers spotted his body lying inside a forest near Lilajan river and informed the police. A bag containing vegetables and other items reportedly purchased from the market was found near the body, indicating that he was returning home when the incident took place.While some locals suspect that excessive consumption of liquor might have led to his death, the exact cause will be ascertained only after autopsy. Tandwa police reached the spot, took custody of the body, and sent it for post-mortem. The officer in-charge, Uttam Tiwari, said that further action would be taken after receiving the autopsy report. “The matter is being investigated from all angles,” he said.Body of another unidentified man (50) was found near Ledhiya river at Kadgawan Khurd under Mayurhand police station limits on Tuesday night. The body was found in a semi-clad condition.Police said the man had a tattoo of Shesh Nag on his right hand and a thick black thread tied around his right arm. Officer-in-charge Ashish Prasad said the identity of the deceased was not yet established and appealed to the public to help identify the body. Police said investigations are underway in all the cases, and further action will be taken after the post-mortem reports are received.
