Mangaluru: The two-day PhysioCon 2026, an international physiotherapy conference organised by the South Canara Physiotherapy Teachers Association will be held at the TMA Pai Convention Centre from April 10. The conference theme is ‘Movement is health-moving into the next era through technology and autonomy.’Organising chairman UT Iftikar Fareed, who is also chairman of the Karnataka State Council for Allied and Healthcare told reporters on Saturday, that the theme reflects a transformative approach to physical wellness and healthcare by combining human movement with advanced technology to promote independence and longevity. Around 6,000 delegates are expected to attend.The conference will be inaugurated by Sharanprakash R Patil, minister for medical education and skill development, entrepreneurship and livelihood. Assembly speaker UT Khader will preside. District minister Dinesh Gundu Rao will deliver the keynote address. Yagna Unmesh Shukla, chairperson of the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions under the Union ministry of health and family welfare, will attend as guest of honour.Special addresses will be delivered by Dr HS Ballal, pro-chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, and Dr Bhagavan BC, vice-chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
