Jamshedpur: Two CoBRA jawans of the CRPF sustained injuries in an IED blast in the extremist-hit West Singhbhum district on Saturday.Confirming the incident, SP Amit Renu said the IED exploded in the Saranda forest area under the Chota Nagra police station in the early hours, when the security forces were on a combing operation.

“One of the jawans sustained a serious leg injury. Both the jawans were airlifted to Ranchi for further medical treatment,” the SP said.Renu said the IEDs were planted by the extremists to target the forces and said details of the injured jawans would be shared.Earlier, on February 10, two villagers were killed in an IED blast at Tirilposi village under the Jaraikela police station of West Singhbhum.
