Patna: Two persons were arrested in Samastipur district on Sunday in connection with the gang rape of a 23-year-old woman two days ago. Four persons abducted the woman, who is from Kolkata, and took her to a hotel where they committed the crime on March 20 night. The woman, however, managed to flee from the spot on Saturday morning and filed a complaint at the women police station.Cops said that the woman was called from Kolkata to a hotel in Samastipur by a person on March 20. Both were known to each other and used to talk over the phone. Meanwhile, four youths riding in a black SUV forcibly abducted the woman from there and took her to another hotel. It is alleged that the woman was gang-raped at this hotel.SHO of women police station, Preeti Kumari, said, “The police took action and arrested Dilip Kumar, son of Ramvilas Mahto, a resident of Belsandi Deeh village under Vibhutipur police station area, and Suresh Giri, son of Rampreet Giri, a resident of Kodariya village. Dilip was also arrested by Vibhutipur police in 2023 in a prostitution case and sent to jail.”The SHO informed that based on the woman’s application, a case has been registered against six named and one unknown person. The woman has also filed an FIR against the hotel staff and operator. “Dilip is the staff of the hotel where the woman was called earlier. The hotel owner, Yahswant Kumar Singh, and other accused are on the run. We are conducting raids to nab them,” the SHO added.
