Sasaram: Four people, including a man and his son, lost their lives while two others sustained serious injuries in two separate road accidents reported within a span of 12 hours in Rohtas and Kaimur districts.In Rohtas district, a speeding SUV mowed three youths riding a motorcycle near Bharkudiya village on the Dehri-Bikramganj road (SH-15) under Darihat police station area on Wednesday morning. The three were returning to their village from Darihat when a speeding SUV, coming from the Dehri side, rammed into their motorcycle.The impact was so severe that one of the riders identified as Vikas Kumar (30), got trapped along with the motorcycle and was dragged for nearly 50 metres, leading to his death on the spot. Another person, Rustam Ansari, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Sasaram Sadar Hospital. The third, Nageshwar Paswan alias Naga, remains critically injured and is undergoing treatment.Police reached the spot, seized the vehicle, and sent the bodies for the postmortem. The driver of the SUV fled the scene after the accident. SHO Raviranjan Priyadarshi the condition of the injured remains critical.In a separate incident in Kaimur district, a man and his son were killed after the autorickshaw they were travelling in overturned following a collision with a nilgai near Jogiya Veer Baba under Bhagwanpur police station area late Tuesday night.The deceased were identified as Jayprakash Ram and his father Idal Ram, residents of Majhiaon village. The incident took place around 12.30am while they were returning home from Khareda village in Rampur block after visiting relatives. Near Netpur Siwan under Jaitpur Kala Panchayat, a nilgai suddenly crossed the road and collided with the auto, causing it to overturn.Both father and son died on the spot. A third unidentified passenger sustained injuries in the accident. Police officials, led by SHO Chandrashekhar Sharma, reached the spot, took the bodies into custody, and sent them to Sadar Hospital Bhabha for autosy. The bodies were later handed over to the family.
