Jhansi: A joint team of police and the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) on Saturday seized 214 kg of ganja, estimated at around Rs 1.07 crore, from a truck and arrested two alleged members of a drug trafficking network.According to SSP Jhansi Vikas Kumar, the truck was intercepted based on a tip-off near Nayakheda on the Sukma-Dukma road in the Babina area.The accused were identified as Satpal alias Satyapal (46), a resident of Panipat district in Haryana and the truck driver, and Mohan Kushwaha (27), a resident of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh.According to police, the contraband was concealed under a tarpaulin inside the truck.During interrogation, Mohan allegedly told police that the consignment had been handed over to him by his neighbour, Akash Kushwaha, who took him to Bhubaneswar in Odisha and arranged for the ganja to be loaded into the truck.Mohan further claimed that Akash had promised him Rs 30,000 for delivering the consignment to Gwalior, while the truck driver was to be paid Rs 1 lakh.Police said a case had been registered at Babina police station under Sections 8, 20, 29 and 60 of the NDPS Act. The accused were produced before a court, and further investigation is underway.
