Akola: Two persons were killed on the spot after a loaded Eicher truck met with an accident on the Nagpur–Mumbai National Highway at Kurum Shivar on Friday night.Police said the truck was transporting iron pipes from Nagpur towards Sambhajinagar. While passing through Kurum Shivar area, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The truck then crossed the road divider, veered into the opposite carriageway, and plunged into a deep ravine near the bridge.

Due to the impact, the heavy iron pipes loaded on the truck slid forward and crashed into the cabin, crushing the occupants.The deceased have been identified as driver Anisuddin Kazi and cleaner Mohd Rehan Mohd Najim, both from Johar Nagar, Buldhana. Both died on the spot. Manna police rushed to the site and carried out spot panchnama. The bodies were later sent for post-mortem examination.
