Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the Congress during a public meeting in Tandur. He said, “If the Congress govt provides 1 gram of gold and 2,500 to women, then vote for the hand symbol; otherwise, vote for the car symbol.“He further said that during the 2023 elections, Congress leaders made various promises, articulating six key guarantees aimed at improving the lives of people in Telangana. “But Congress misled approximately 4 crore citizens with these false commitments,” he said. KTR called on citizens to hold chief minister A Revanth Reddy accountable for delivering on these guarantees during his two years in office.KTR expressed disappointment with the Congress govt for failing to distribute Bathukamma sarees, an important cultural symbol reflecting Telangana’s rich heritage, and for neglecting to provide holiday gifts for Muslims during Eid and for Christians during Christmas. This failure, he argued, demonstrated a lack of commitment to inclusivity and respect for the state’s diverse communities.Furthermore, KTR referenced initiatives launched by Telangana’s first CM, K Chandrasekar Rao (KCR), which included financial assistance of 12,000 for the birth of male children and 13,000 for female children. He pointed out that these welfare schemes also featured nutritional support for pregnant women, critical programmes that the current Congress administration overlooked, leaving marginalised groups in a state of vulnerability.Turning his attention to the agricultural sector, KTR alleged that the Revanth led govt failed to deposit Rythu Bandhu funds into farmers’ accounts even after a six-month delay. He also highlighted the unfulfilled promise of a 500 bonus for cultivating high-quality rice, an essential crop for many farmers. Such inaction, according to KTR, placed additional strain on the farming community and raised questions about the govt’s priorities. MSID:: 128072196 413 |
