CHENNAI: Actress Trisha Krishnan’s presence alongside Tamil Nadu chief minister C Joseph Vijay’s family at two of his key official events has drawn attention — first at his swearing-in ceremony in May and now at the state’s Independence Day celebrations.Trisha was seated in the front row with Vijay’s parents at the Independence Day event at Fort St George on Saturday.Dressed in a yellow saree, she was also seen saluting Vijay as he hoisted the national flag and reviewed the ceremonial proceedings.Her presence comes nearly three months after she attended Vijay’s swearing-in ceremony on May 10 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. Trisha and her mother were seated alongside Vijay’s parents during the ceremony.Visuals from the oath-taking event also showed Trisha greeting Vijay’s mother Shobha Chandrasekhar and his sister, and later warmly hugging members of his family.With Trisha now appearing alongside Vijay’s family again at another major state event, her presence at the chief minister’s key public engagements has once again attracted attention.Vijay, meanwhile, delivered his maiden Independence Day address as chief minister from Fort St George on Saturday. He spoke about his government’s priorities, including tackling corruption and protecting Tamil Nadu’s rights.
