Pune: Three men with criminal records were arrested for allegedly assaulting a delivery person and robbing him of Rs 22,000 on Friday.A Phursungi police team led by police sub-inspector Bapusaheb Khandare arrested the trio: Anuk Mane (21), Pranav Shinde (22) and Samir Chavan (19), based on a tip-off and with the help of a UPI transaction. The robbery took place in the early hours of Thursday when the delivery person, 39, was driving home.Khandare said, “Around 2.30am on Thursday, the accused stopped the complainant near Khutwad Chowk in Phursungi. They assaulted him, claiming they were the ‘bhai’ of the area. One of them picked up a liquor bottle and hit the complainant on his hands, body and head.”He added, “The trio snatched Rs17,500 from the complainant’s wallet and took his cellphone. They also forced him to transfer Rs4,200 to a UPI account before fleeing the spot. All three accused have previous cases registered against them.”
