In the first round of counseling, Kanhu Bhuyan of Champa Sahi in Gajapati district’s Rayagada block got a seat to join MBBS in the SCB Medical College. “I have had a dream to become a doctor from my childhood and it became reality after clearing NEET UG this year” said Bhuyan , a student of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya (OAV), Kaithapadar in Rayagada block. Moreover, getting a seat in SCB is something to be proud, he said.He has secured All India Rank (AIR) of 1, 18,933 along with a category rank 21 in the state in NEET (UG) in his first attempt and wanted to study in SCB Medical College, CuttackThe primary school where he studied in primary school has been closed and merged with the nearby school at Rayagada, due to the lack of required student strength of 20 to run the school. After completing his school he joined the OAV. He was selected to take coaching to prepare for NEET by the state government, where 500 students took coaching in an OAV at Bhubaneswar.From his childhood he has a dream to become a doctor. Due to his hard work and blessings of the teachers, he has cracked the NEET UG for his first attempt. He has also got a seat in SCB in his first counseling. We felt proud of his achievement” said Ajit Bhuyan, his father, a farmer.“We will pursue his medical studies despite having a poor financial condition and to become a doctor” said his father.Santoshini Padhy, principal OAV, Kaithapadar, said has blessed him to become a good doctor in future and to serve the tribal and downtrodden people of the society.
