Youtuber Kanika Devrani alleged that she was drugged and robbed while travelling alone in the train, sparking concerns among people about the safety of passengers in the Indian Railway.YouTuber claimed that while traveling from Delhi to Assam in the Brahmaputra Mail, an unidentified man boarded the 2AC coach without a ticket, sprayed a sedative, and stole mobile phones — including hers and another passenger’s — while they were unconscious. In a video, posted by Kanika, she added that she had chosen the 2AC class, assuming it would offer more security during her solo journey. For added safety and privacy, she placed her phone under her pillow, drew the curtains around her berth, and kept the lights off while sleeping. Despite these precautions, she later learned that a stranger had reportedly entered the compartment, inquired about seat numbers, and may have used a sedative before stealing valuables from her and other passengers. The YouTuber shared that she felt stressed and anxious upon realizing what had happened. “I was terrified thinking about what could have gone wrong,” she said, adding that she managed to reach her family using a spare phone. She also mentioned that despite her efforts, she received little assistance from the Railway Police and has been struggling to get support from Assam Police as well, with no progress so far.
