Chatra: The festive fervour around Eid turned into mourning for a family in Pathalgada block in Chatra district on Friday after a lightning strike killed a woman and left two others, including her minor daughter, critically injured.The incident occurred in Singhani village when Sama Parveen (35), wife of Mohammad Mahfooz had gone to collect mahua near her second house at Bandarchua village under Nongaon panchayat.Her 12-year-old daughter Huzaifa Parveen and a neighbour Muneja Khatun (55) who were also there sustained serious injuries. Locals rushed them to Banwara health centre from where they were referred to Hazaribag for advanced treatment considering their critical condition. Pathalgada circle cum block development officer Udal Ram met the grief-stricken family members to assure all possible govt assistance. “The dead body was sent for postmortem examination to Chatra Sadar Hospital,” he said.
