Ahead of opening of Viveka Smaraka by PM Modi, Dalit activists staged a dharna at Gandhi Square in Mysuru on Friday. They accused the Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama of building the memorial for Hindu monk Swami Vivekananda demolishing a Kannada school

Mysuru: Ahead of PM Narendra Modi’s visit to inaugurate Viveka Smaraka on Saturday, Mysuru City police have banned vehicle movement on certain roads in the city from 12 noon to 6 pm.Commuters are advised to take alternate routes during the time. Public movements will be restricted on KRS Road and JLB Eoad. People are advised to take Sayajirao Road and Irwin Road to reach railway station. Traffic movement on KRS Road from Dasappa Circle to Royal Inn Junction will be completely shut down during the PM’s visit, for security reasons. There is restricted vehicle movement on roads surrounding Viveka Smaraka like Krishnaraja Vilas, Rama Vilas, Seetha Vilas, Narayana Shastri Road, Dewan’s Road and Radha Krishna Avenue and JLB Road. Traffic restrictions will be imposed from one hour before the PM’s visit till his return later in the evening.
