Chennai: Chief minister M K Stalin on Wednesday said the state govt’s focused initiatives to coach UPSC aspirants were beginning to yield results.Speaking to successful candidates who cleared the civil services exam in Chennai, Stalin said the number of persons clearing the civil services exam should increase from Tamil Nadu in the coming years.“The DMK govt stepped in with targeted measures, including advanced training and interview guidance, after observing a decline in the number of successful candidates from the state in previous years. 60 candidates from Tamil Nadu cleared the UPSC examination this year, of whom 56 benefited from the state’s ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ coaching and incentive scheme. The number should increase further. Many more youngsters must take inspiration from you and succeed in the coming years,” Stalin said.Stalin also advised the young officers to balance professional responsibilities with family commitments. “However busy you are at work, never forget to call your parents on the phone and speak to them regularly. Allot at least 5 minutes for them and enquire whether they took food and medicine,” Stalin said.Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin, while wishing the achievers, said Stalin was helping the UPSC aspirants like a parent helping their child through the Naal Mudhalvan Scheme.
