Mysuru: Tibetans-in-exile commemorated the 37th birthday of the 11th Panchen Lama, Jetsun Tenzin Gedun Yeshe Trinley Phuntsok Palzangpo (Gedhun Choekyi Nyima), at Tashi Lhunpo Monastery in Bylakuppe Tibetan camp, Periyapatna taluk of Mysuru district.Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-exile Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, Chief Justice Yeshe Wangmo of the Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission, and cabinet secretary Lobsang Jinpa from the office of the Dalai Lama attended.Senior officials of the monastery, regional and settlement representatives from Bylakuppe, members of various monasteries and NGOs, and members of the Tibetan community also participated.During the formal ceremony, Abbot Rinpoche of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery read out an official statement marking the occasion.The programme concluded with cultural performances, including traditional Tibetan songs and dances, presented by students and members of the local community.
