Times News NetworkKanpur: A three-year-old boy died after being bitten by a snake while sleeping beside his mother in Kiratpur village under Balrai police station area in Etawah on Tuesday night.Arpit (3), son of Dharmendra Kumar, was sleeping on a cot with his mother, Suman, when a snake bit his toe around 1.30 am. Although he began crying, his family could not understand the reason. About an hour later, the snake reappeared in the room. The family then examined Arpit and found snake bite marks on his foot. They rushed him to the CHC, where a doctor declared him dead after examination.Lakhera Kuan police outpost in-charge Kailash Kumar reached the spot, and sent the body for post-mortem examination. Arpit was the youngest of three brothers and a sister. His father works as a labourer in Pune.Naib tehsildar Neha Sachan said the family would receive Rs 4 lakh in assistance under natural calamity provisions, subject to rules.
