Rourkela: Three persons died and a woman was injured in lightning strikes at two places in Deogarh district on Monday afternoon. The deceased youths have been identified as Dolamani Penthi (18) and Bulbul Samal (18). The two friends were returning from a temple on a motorcycle when they were struck by lightning and died on the spot. Police have started an inquiry.In a separate incident under Deogarh police station, Raju Kandulana (30), of Mirgidiasahi, died after being struck by lightning while standing near his wife, who was washing utensils outside their home. Both were hit, and Kandulana died on the spot while his wife sustained injuries.They were rushed to Deogarh district headquarters hospital, where Kandulana was declared brought dead and his wife was admitted for treatment. Her condition is stated to be stable.
