Bhubaneswar: CM Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday called upon the youth to work towards a stronger, more prosperous and united India, drawing inspiration from the ‘nation first’ ideals of Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee. He was speaking at a state-level programme here to mark Mukherjee’s martyrdom day.Highlighting Mukherjee’s contributions, Majhi said the Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder showed extraordinary leadership from a young age. “At just 33, he became the youngest vice-chancellor of Calcutta University and ushered in significant reforms in the education sector,” Majhi said, underlining his role as an architect of academic change.Recalling Mukherjee’s role in the movement of Jammu & Kashmir, Majhi referred to his slogan asserting that one nation cannot have separate constitutions, prime ministers and flags. “His vision helped strengthen the spirit of unity and integrity of the country,” the CM added.Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Majhi said the abrogation of Article 370 fulfilled Mukherjee’s long-cherished vision. “From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, one Constitution and one tricolour now represent the unity of India.
