Thiruvananthapuram: Police arrested three men for allegedly barging into a house at Valiyarathala on Wednesday night, threatening the occupants and fleeing with an iPhone.The arrested were Libin, Akshay and Ashish, all residents of Pappanivil Colony. The police said the accused barged into the house of Srihari, who is recovering from a spinal cord injury and has been advised rest, and demanded money. The cops said the accused demanded money claiming that Srihari had not reimbursed expenses they had incurred while helping him after an accident.A dispute broke out when Srihari refused their demand, following which the accused allegedly assaulted him and forcibly took his mobile phone. Akshay and Ashish are brothers and friends of Srihari, the police said. The accused later tried to sell it at Manacaud.A team led by SHO Kiran Sasidharan arrested the three from Idaykkode under Nemom police station limits. They said Libin is an accused in around five cases, including a Pocso case. Ashish is accused in around 10 cases, including a case involving the theft of a mobile phone from Medical College area. The accused will be produced before a court, the police said.
