In a shocking turn of events in Ranchi, three men found themselves in police custody after allegedly opening fire at an IMFL shop when their request for complimentary liquor was turned down. Officers seized a homemade revolver, a standard pistol, and several rounds of ammunition from the trio, all of whom were already on law enforcement’s radar for previous offenses.

Ranchi: Three men were arrested for allegedly firing at an Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) shop in Getalsud under Angara police station limits of the district on Mar 3, the police said on Friday.Ranchi SP (Rural) Praveen Pushkar said the accused Deo Singh Munda, Gautam Yadav and Bholu were arrested from Jonha village. A country-made revolver, a pistol, 19 cartridges and four mobile phones were seized from them.

Around 9:30 pm, the accused arrived at the shop and demanded liquor for free. When the staff refused, they pulled out a gun and fired. The staff at the store managed to save themselves by hiding behind the counter, the police said.A team led by Silli deputy SP was constituted to solve the case. Pushkar said all the three had criminal antecedents. While Munda is accused in nine criminal cases registered with Angara and Mccluskiegunj police stations, Yadav is accused in 12 cases in Maccluskiegunj, Chanho, and Angara police stations. Bholu is accused in three cases in Sukhdevnagar, Ormanjhi and Angara police stations.
