New Delhi: ESCP Business School has appointed Professor Thomas Jeanjean as its Executive President and Dean, effective August 24, 2026. He succeeds Professor Léon Laulusa and will lead the institution’s next phase of growth under its “Bold & United” strategic roadmap.
The appointment follows an international search conducted by the school’s Board of Directors, which said the leadership change comes at a time when higher education is being reshaped by technological disruption, geopolitical shifts and increasing global competition. The school aims to strengthen its academic excellence and reinforce its position among the world’s leading management institutions.
Jeanjean brings more than two decades of experience in higher education leadership. Since 2021, he has served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Education at the Paris Île-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI Paris Île-de-France), overseeing the education strategy for a network of 14 institutions across management, engineering, design, culinary arts and technology.
Before joining CCI Paris Île-de-France, he held several senior leadership roles at ESSEC Business School, including Deputy CEO and Dean of Post-Experience Programmes and Executive Education. Earlier in his career, he was Professor of Accounting at HEC Paris. He holds a PhD from Université Paris Dauphine and is a graduate of École normale supérieure Paris-Saclay.
As Executive President and Dean, Jeanjean will oversee the continued implementation of ESCP’s strategic plan, strengthen the school’s research capabilities, lead the launch of the School of Technology and the School of Governance, and expand the international reach of its multicampus model.
Announcing the appointment, Philippe Houzé, Chairman of ESCP’s Board of Directors, said Jeanjean’s strategic vision and leadership experience would help the institution build on its recent momentum and move closer to its ambition of becoming Europe’s leading university for management.
Responding to his appointment, Jeanjean said he looked forward to working with the school’s faculty, staff, students, alumni and partners to strengthen ESCP’s academic excellence while preparing students to make an impact in a rapidly changing world.
