Kanpur: Police on Friday filed the third and final 316-page chargesheet in the extortion case registered against Akhilesh Dubey on the complaint of BJP leader Ravi Satija.Investigating officer and Naubasta inspector Bahadur Singh said that the chargesheet contains statements of 12 witnesses.During the investigation, police found that the allegations made by Satija against Akhilesh Dubey’s associate, Vimal Yadav, were correct.Police said the investigation revealed that Vimal Yadav had allegedly trapped Satija in a false rape case with the intention of grabbing his property.Subsequently, the woman who had lodged the false rape complaint was also made a prosecution witness by police.Earlier, chargesheets had already been filed against Akhilesh Dubey and other accused.Ravi Satija lodged a complaint at Barra police station on Aug 6, 2025, against Akhilesh Dubey, Lavi Mishra, Shailendra Yadav, Abhishek Bajpai, Vimal Yadav and the two women who had accused him of rape.He alleged that Akhilesh Dubey and his associates had falsely implicated him in a rape case involving a minor.When the allegations were found to be false during the investigation and a final report (FR) was filed, Dubey allegedly threatened to take possession of his Sona Mansion property and warned him of dire consequences.Satija further alleged that a forged affidavit was submitted in court in connection with the case, after which Akhilesh called him to his office and demanded Rs 50 lakh to save him from legal action.Police arrested Akhilesh Dubey and Lavi Mishra in the case and sent them to jail on Aug 7, 2025. Accused Shailendra Yadav alias Tonu was also arrested and sent to jail, and a chargesheet against all three was filed before the court on Sept 22, 2025.The fourth accused, Abhishek Bajpai alias Priyanshu, surrendered before the court and was sent to jail. Police filed the second chargesheet against him before the court on Feb 20.Meanwhile, a reward of Rs 25,000 was declared on accused Vimal Yadav.Police also pasted a notice for attachment of property, but Vimal neither surrendered nor was arrested. He later obtained relief from the high court. Subsequently, police questioned him after serving a notice and, after finding sufficient evidence against him, filed the third chargesheet before the court.
