Thane: The Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar faction) alleged that Thane Police did not arrest the main accused in a multi-crore stock market fraud case despite an FIR, in which over 1,000 investors were allegedly duped of nearly Rs 185 crore.DCP Parag Manere said the main accused were currently absconding and efforts were underway to trace them. He said Preeti Rane recently delivered a baby and appropriate legal action would be taken as per law. District president Manoj Pradhan said key accused Sachin Balkrishna Rane and Sagar Karivdekar remained absconding. Along with Preeti Rane, they allegedly lured investors through Marathi stock market training sessions by promising assured monthly returns of 4-5%, asking them to route funds via Karivdekar.By December 2025, around 1,246 investors invested nearly Rs 185 crore. Though agreements were executed, the funds were allegedly diverted to accounts of the accused and their relatives. Pradhan claimed over Rs 32 crore was siphoned off to family members and close associates.
