Guwahati: Tezpur University has brought laurels to Assam, with students from the department of Mass Communication and Journalism earning national recognition at the National Youth Festival organised by the Association of Indian Universities in Chennai.

After advancing through the zonal rounds, Rahul Rohan Paul won second prize in English debate and second prize in Hindi elocution. Adding to the success, Shashank Buragohain won third prize in western instrumental solo, displaying his musical skill among contestants from universities nationwide.

TU’s team included Rahul Rohan Paul from the department of Mass Communication and Journalism and Manash Pratim Dutta from the school of management sciences. “What makes this achievement significant is that these were the only events in which TU participated, and the students returned with honours,” stated a release.
