Hyderabad: Legislative affairs minister D Sridhar Babu on Wednesday slammed BRS members for their ‘unhealthy practice’ of attempting to dictate how the speaker should manage the proceedings of the House.Sridhar Babu asked how the opposition could expect to continue with the same approach now that it is no longer in power, especially given its past tendency to bulldoze through legislative processes without regard for decorum. He reacted strongly to the objections raised by BRS members while ministers were introducing bills.Sridhar Babu clarified that it was not practical to grant the microphone to BRS leader T Harish Rao in his capacity of deputy leader of the legislature party. “He would have the opportunity to speak freely whenever required if he assumes the position of legislature party leader,” Sridhar Babu said, addressing Harish directly. The minister went on to state that Harish possesses all the necessary qualifications to be elected the leader of the legislature party, emphasising his confidence in the BRS leader’s ability to effectively fulfil that role.
