Hyderabad: The Telangana high court on Thursday issued notices to the assembly speaker and MLAs M Sanjay Kumar and Kadiyam Srihari, who won on a BRS ticket and allegedly defected to the ruling Congress party, while hearing petitions filed by the BRS and BRS MLAs challenging the speaker’s decision on the defected MLAs’ disqualification petitions.The bench of Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice GM Mohiuddin, who heard the petitions, directed counters be filed and the matters be tagged along with similar petitions before the court and adjourned the hearing to April 16 for further hearing.The petitions alleged that the speaker mechanically dismissed the disqualification petitions against the defected MLAs and urged the court to suspend the speaker’s decision and declare the MLAs disqualified from holding their office.
