Hyderabad: Former minister T Harish Rao alleged that as many as 15,700 GOs issued by the Congress govt in the past two and a half years were not available online, accounting for about 80% of the total GOs issued. He questioned the state govt, which has been claiming to maintain transparency, for not uploading the GOs online.Participating in a debate on grants in the assembly on Thursday, Harish said BRS leaders had obtained details of the GOs through the Right to Information Act and filed a case in the high court, which directed the state govt to upload them immediately. He also questioned the govt on the appointment and continuation of retired officers. The BRS deputy leader objected to the state govt’s decision to extend the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) for govt employees by six months. “When the assembly is in session, the govt cannot take any policy or important decision without announcing it in the assembly. But the govt violated this convention and issued a memo extending the PRC for six more months,” Harish said. The former minister added that the Congress party had promised during the election to implement the PRC within six months, but now, after two and a half years, it has been extended by another six months. He also reminded that the BRS govt had given a 72% increase to govt employees in two PRCs and provided an interim PRC in 2023 after constituting the new PRC. The BRS leader raised concerns over pending DA and other benefits for serving and retired govt employees.
