Hyderabad: Resolving the long pending dependent employment, Telangana deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has asked the officials to resolve 250 to 300 pending deployment cases within 15 days and issue appointment orders to eligible beneficiaries. He also instructed authorities to take a humanitarian approach in deciding over 136 pending dependent name-change cases based on the recommendations of the Singareni Officers’ Committee.The deputy CM announced a series of major decisions aimed at addressing long-pending issues of Singareni coal mine workers while enhancing welfare infrastructure and accelerating development across the coal belt region.During a review meeting with public representatives including ministers D Sridhar Babu and G Vivek, to simplify the medical invalidation process, the Deputy CM ordered monthly medical board meetings at all Singareni area hospitals, eliminating the need for workers to travel to Kothagudem. He asked the officials to provide a one-time opportunity for reinstatement to employees dismissed during the Covid 19 period or due to local circumstances.On housing issue, Vikramarka, ordered the expeditious distribution of house-site pattas to eligible beneficiaries on the remaining 1,250 acres of land returned by Singareni to the revenue department. He also proposed the establishment of Nehru Housing Colonies for workers by identifying unutilised Singareni lands and developing them into residential layouts. Dilapidated D-Type quarters will be demolished and replaced with modern housing units equipped with essential facilities.Emphasising healthcare, Bhatti directed that Singareni hospitals be upgraded on par with corporate hospitals by improving infrastructure, attracting specialist doctors and introducing advanced facilities such as cardiac care and Cath Labs. Free cancer screening camps will also be organised in villages across Singareni areas due to concerns over health risks associated with mining activities.The Deputy CM further ordered the solarisation of govt schools, colleges, hospitals and public buildings in the region, establishment of RO water plants in govt schools, and regular distribution of safety kits to workers every six months.He also approved the setting up of an agricultural research station in Bhupalpally, allocation of CSR funds for govt junior colleges, and in-principle clearance for a Singareni thermal power plant at Ramagundam. Officials were directed to modernise all Singareni colonies with improved drainage, sanitation, electrification, drinking water supply and sewage infrastructure, aiming to significantly improve the quality of life of workers and their families.ends/
