Gurgaon: A 13-year-old girl died in an accident while playing on a makeshift swing at her home in Sector 9 on Sunday evening.Rani Kumari was the eldest daughter of Suresh Singh — a tailor — who lives at a rented accommodation in Devilal Colony with his wife and three daughters. The family hails from Bihar’s Sitamarhi.According to police, Rani tied her mother’s saree to a wall-mounted grille to use it as a swing. “While playing with her sisters, she began spinning around using the saree for support. During this, the cloth suddenly tightened around her neck, leading to strangulation,” an officer said.As Rani lost consciousness, family members rushed her to a nearby govt hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Officials from Sector 9A police station reached the spot and sent the body for autopsy. Police said though the case appears to be an accidental death, all aspects are being examined.Child falls into tank, dies: A six–year-old girl died after she fell into a small water tank in a field while playing with her sisters in Sultanpur area of Farrukhnagar. Two sisters — Chhavi and her younger sister (3) —fell, but the latter managed to come out of the water, police said.They frantically called the parents before Chhavi drowned. “We have initiated inquest proceedings (194 BNSS) and an autopsy was conducted. The body was later handed over to the family for the last rites,” an officer said.
