Lucknow: A 14-year-old boy died after he was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon during a dispute that began over a video game in Kotwali area of Sitapur.The boy’s uncle, who also sustained injuries in the incident, is undergoing treatment. According to the FIR registered at Kotwali police station on Monday, the incident took place around 10.45 pm on Sunday near the Rain Basera in Kamela Kajiyara area. The complainant Mohammad Azad Pehalwan, a resident of the same locality, alleged that his 14-year-old son Ayan had an argument with a boy named Adil, who was associated with a video game shop.Following the altercation, the shop owner, identified as Salim (63), and his son Shuaib (30), both residents of the same locality, attacked Ayan with a sharp weapon. The boy suffered serious injuries to his abdomen and neck. Some children rushed to Azad’s house and informed his nephew Danish. When Danish reached the spot, the two accused allegedly attacked him with the same weapon and injured him in a sensitive part of his body.Ayan and Danish were subsequently taken for medical treatment. As Ayan’s condition was stated to be critical, doctors referred him to KGMU trauma centre in Lucknow. However, he succumbed to injuries while being taken to the state capital on early Monday.Police reached the spot after being informed about the incident and took the deceased boy’s body into custody for post-mortem examination. Danish is undergoing treatment.Police registered a case ) against Salim and Shuaib and took them into custody.SP, Sitapur, Ankur Agarwal said that police were examining the circumstances that led to the confrontation, the sequence of events and the alleged use of a sharp weapon. Investigators are also expected to examine the statements of eyewitnesses.
