New Delhi: Honeywell Technologies has announced plans to equip more than 3 lakh students across India with skills in artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, sustainability and other emerging technologies by 2030 under its flagship Saksham initiative.
The company said the programme will be delivered through partnerships with IIT Bombay, BharatCares, Ladli Foundation and the Foundation of Science, Innovation and Development (FSID-IISc).
Honeywell said it has reached more than 13 lakh beneficiaries over the past decade through its education and community initiatives.
As part of the new commitment, the IIT Bombay-Honeywell Technologies Centre of Excellence for Future Skills & Innovation will reach more than 1 lakh undergraduate students through a network of colleges. It will offer courses across five areas: sustainability reporting, sustainable finance, energy security, sustainability infrastructure and policy advocacy. The centre will also support applied research, research fellows and startup incubation.
Under Honeywell Technologies Future Skills Edge, the company aims to train 2 lakh students in AI and cybersecurity through hybrid, project-based learning. The programme will operate through four Centres of Excellence in government institutions across Maharashtra, Haryana, Karnataka and Telangana, with a target of 50% women participation.
Honeywell, in partnership with the Ladli Foundation, will also transform 12 government and government-aided girls’ schools across Maharashtra, Delhi, Haryana and Karnataka. The programme is expected to benefit more than 12,000 students through smart classrooms, digital skills training, health and hygiene awareness and leadership development.
The company is also expanding its support for deep-science startups through FSID-IISc. Honeywell said that by 2030, it expects to support nearly 75 early-stage startups and Entrepreneurs-in-Residence working in areas including AI, renewable energy, sustainability, cybersecurity and digitisation.
Separately, Honeywell said it engages more than 50 underprivileged interns annually through the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme, providing industry exposure, mentorship and workplace experience.

The Saksham initiative is implemented through Hometown Solutions India Foundation, Honeywell’s philanthropic arm in India. The company said the initiative is aimed at expanding access to STEM education and building a workforce aligned with emerging technology and industry requirements.
