Lucknow: A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 17-year-old boy in Aashiana late Tuesday, police said.According to police, the girl was returning home alone from the market when the accused, who was known to her, allegedly took her to a deserted place and raped her.The case came to light after some local residents spotted the girl with the accused and his four friends and alerted police.Suspecting it to be a case of gang rape, a police team rushed to the spot, detained all five boys, and took the survivor to a govt hospital for medical examination.During the investigation, police found that the 17-year-old boy had raped her, while the other four boys were not involved in the crime. However, they were being interrogated.Police said the survivor has recorded her statement and told about involvement of 17-year-old boy only. “We have detained the 17-year-old boy based on the statement of the survivor and checking CCTVs to know exact sequence of events,” said DCP, Central Zone, Vikrant Vir.
