Mysuru: In a remarkable display of dedication, a govt school teacher from HD Kote conducted special classes for her students just hours after the death of her husband, ahead of the SSLC mathematics examination.Her effort bore fruit as the school recorded a 100% pass result, with all 57 students clearing the exam. The highest score in mathematics was 91 out of 100, a sharp improvement from last year’s pass percentage of 74%.“Credit should go to students and parents,” said Jyothi K, the mathematics teacher, who is also the in-charge headmistress.Two days before the exam, her husband Kiran Kumar, a resident of Dattagalli in Mysuru, died. Despite the personal loss, Jyothi returned to school the very next morning and taught for nearly nine hours.Block education officer CN Raju called her a true role model.
