Ahmedabad: Teachers and members of the department of education of groups with special needs (DEGSN) of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) started their five-day training in Braille at the Blind People’s Association (BPA) on Monday.According to organizers, the purpose of the event is to build the capacity of teachers working with special needs groups in remote areas of the country. The training also aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 provisions for the inclusion of children with disabilities.Senior officials from NCERT and BPA participated in the event. Experts highlighted Bharati Braille, the system developed to write Indian languages. They added that it is a tactile script based on phonetics.
