Ahmedabad: More than 80,000 students from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will appear for the Class 10 and Class 12 final exams in Gujarat beginning Tuesday. This year, more than 43.67 lakh students registered for the exams in the country. In Gujarat alone, over 45,000 from Class 10 and more than 35,000 from Class 12 will take the exams. Last year, over 75,000 students from the state appeared for the exams. CBSE will conduct exams in 203 subjects, including 83 subjects for Class 10 and 120 subjects for Class 12.On the first day, Class 10 students will appear for mathematics (standard) and mathematics (basic), while Class 12 students will take the entrepreneurship and biotechnology exams. Class 10 exams will conclude on March 11, while Class 12 exams will continue until April 10.CBSE also issued detailed guidelines regarding permitted and prohibited items inside exam halls. Students are allowed to carry admit cards, school ID cards, stationery in transparent pouches, geometry boxes, pens, pencils, transparent water bottles, and basic travel passes. However, electronic devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, calculators, and pen drives are strictly prohibited. Only diabetic students are permitted to carry food items.The Board urged students not to pay attention to rumours or fake news regarding paper leaks and to rely solely on official CBSE communication channels for accurate information.
