PATNA: Panic gripped Patna College on Saturday after an unidentified person allegedly threw a sutli bomb into the campus while students were celebrating Teacher’s Day, prompting police and forensic teams to launch an investigation.The incident took place near the Geography Department, where students were attending celebrations in their respective classrooms. According to preliminary information, the explosive was allegedly thrown from the Double Decker Tal area opposite Patna College and landed inside the campus.The college administration alerted police soon after the incident. Peerbahore police station SHO Rajkumar Singh reached the campus with a police team, while a forensic team also examined the spot.“The incident appeared to be the act of a miscreant based on the preliminary investigation. Police have started examining CCTV footage installed across the college campus to identify the person or persons involved,” Peerbahore SHO Rajkumar Singh said.Police are examining CCTV footage from across the campus to identify the suspect or suspects involved in the incident.Officials said further legal action would be initiated once the identities of those involved are established.Patna College’s Dr Uday Shankar also spoke about the incident and the steps taken by the college administration.No further details were immediately available.
