Buxar: The two-day technical festival TECHBUX’26– providing a platform for students to showcase innovation, creativity and technical skills– was inaugurated at the Government Engineering College (GEC), Buxar, on Saturday. The theme of this year’s event is “Hack the Limits. Build the Future.”The festival was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp at the college auditorium in the presence of principal Ram Naresh Rai, faculty members, staff and students.A range of technical competitions, including Robo War, Hurdle Mania, Robo Soccer, Truss Bridge, Debug Thug and Robo Race, are being organised as part of the festival. The events are designed to test participants’ abilities in robotics, programming, engineering design, structural construction, strategy and problem-solving.Addressing the gathering, dean (academic) Shyam Lal Verma said technical festivals allow students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world situations. He said such events help foster innovation, teamwork, creativity and analytical thinking, while preparing students for future technological challenges.The festival is being coordinated by assistant professors Amit Kumar and Jitendra Pratap Singh.Alongside the technical events, a cultural programme featuring music, dance and other performances was also organised. Coordinated by assistant professors Vidya Rashmi and Samira Samim, the programme provided students an opportunity to showcase their artistic talents.College authorities said the combination of technical and cultural activities was aimed at encouraging all-round development and enhancing students’ creative and professional skills.
