Gorakhpur: BJP national general secretary and Uttar Pradesh in charge Vinod Tawde held a late-night one-on-one meeting with Rajya Sabha MP Radha Mohan Das Agrawal at his Daudpur residence in Gorakhpur on Thursday, discussing the political situation in the state, organisational strengths and weaknesses, ticket distribution processes and preparations for upcoming elections, triggering political speculation in local party circles.According to sources, local political developments in Gorakhpur and neighbouring districts also figured in the discussions.Sharing details of the meeting on X, Agrawal said Tawde spent considerable time at his residence during his Gorakhpur tour and held detailed discussions on organisational and political issues.Notably, no senior state, regional or city BJP office-bearer accompanied Tawde to the meeting. Party insiders described it as a personal interaction.Earlier in the evening, Tawde visited the Ashram Paddhati Vidyalaya at Harpur in Sahjanwa and lit an “Aashirwad Ka Diya” as part of the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. He later interacted with students at the Atal Residential School and joined them in lighting lamps.On Friday morning, Tawde began a series of organisational meetings at the BJP regional office in Ranidiha. He is holding separate interactions with regional office-bearers, district presidents, MPs, MLAs and former public representatives to gather feedback on organisational functioning and ground-level political conditions across the region.
