Nagpur: All of them are still too young to feature on the electoral roll, yet school students are now stepping out as unlikely ambassadors of Nagpur’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR), taking out awareness rallies and urging parents, neighbours and other citizens to submit their Enumeration Forms before the August 8 deadline.With barely five days remaining in the form-submission exercise, students carrying placards and raising awareness messages are attempting to reach the very adults whose names are already on the voter list but who have continued to postpone completing the process. The contrast has given the campaign an unusual public narrative — tomorrow’s voters are reminding today’s electors to protect their place in the democratic process.The student initiatives are being carried out in support of the ongoing revision exercise, with participants appealing to citizens not to wait until the final days. Students from Vinayalaya School in Martin Nagar, under North Nagpur Assembly constituency and Sanjuba High School on Umred Road participated in the awareness rallies urging citizens to submit their Enumeration Forms without further delay. Through rallies and direct interactions, they are asking families to contact their Booth Level Officers (BLOs), complete the required details and hand over duly signed Enumeration Forms.The awareness push comes at a crucial stage for Nagpur district, which has now reached 54.48% digitisation, with 25,27,131 Enumeration Forms digitised out of 46,38,589 electors as per state election commission data. The district also has 460 BLOs who have completed 100% digitisation of forms assigned to them. Ramtek leads with 153 such BLOs, followed by Kamptee with 131, Umred with 85, Katol with 40, Savner with 33, Hingna with 13, Nagpur East with four, and Nagpur South West with one.The student rallies are expected to help take the message beyond official camps and door-to-door visits, particularly into households where forms may have been received but remain unsigned or unsubmitted.
