Stephen Curry, the four time NBA champion, and his wife, Ayesha Curry, have been pretty busy throughout the offseason. Ahead of the new season, their foundation has made a heartfelt update.
Stephen Curry and his wife, Ayesha Curry’s foundation makes an update about what the charity has been busy with ahead of the new season
A few hours ago, Stephen Curry and his wife, Ayesha Curry’s foundation, Eat, Learn & Play took to their social media to make a post about what their children have been busy with. The post read as, “We caught up with @oaklandacademyofknowledge principal Nikki Williams about what it means to have @eatlearnplay return to campus and complete a schoolyard for the younger grades after building one for OAK’s older students in 2022.”The post added, “TK through 2nd graders now have their own space to play: two kid-designed play structures, a multi-sport court, a soccer field, nature exploration areas, and more. Our 24th schoolyard build, alongside @kaboom and @ousdnews. #7YearsInOakland.”
Why have Stephen Curry and his wife Ayesha Curry remain so dedicated to their hometown in Oakland ?
Founded in 2019, Stephen Curry and Ayesha Curry used their own funds to set up their charity. The charity helps and supports underprivileged children living in Oakland. Both Stephen Curry and Ayesha Curry were able to see the gaps in their hometown when it came to providing education and food to children coming from unstable backgrounds.Hence, the high profile couple took it upon themselves to make sure every child in Oakland gets quality education, nutritious meals every single day and also get an opportunity to participate in sports and take it up as a profession later on in life.Over the last decade, Eat, Learn & Play has been able to raise a whopping $100 millions in funds while making sure all children are cared for in their hometown.Just a few days ago, the foundation was able to raise $5.6 million as it took to their social media to make a heartfelt post that read as, “Seven years running, the @workday Charity Classic, benefiting @eatlearnplay, has turned a day on the green into real, lasting support for Oakland kids. This year’s event raised more than $5.6 million to support students and families, made possible in part by a generous matching gift from Aneel Bhusri, co-founder, CEO and Chair of Workday.”
