Kanpur: Shree Sanatan Dharm Education Centre (SSDEC) secured eight points to win the KSS (Kanpur Sahodaya Schools) Zone-B Girls Chess Championship held at Allen House Public School on Saturday.Around 60 girls from 12 CBSE schools participated in the competition and played four rounds.Woodbine Gardenia Public School emerged runner-up with six points, while Prabhat Senior Secondary Public School finished third with five points.Ridhima Shukla (DPS Azad Nagar), Navya Rathore (Pt Deen Dayal School), Swastika Kumari (Mariyampur Senior Secondary School), Sakshi Yadav (DPS Kalyanpur) and Gargi (NLK Academy) were adjudged the best performers and were awarded trophies.DPS Azad Nagar had won the boys’ chess championship held on Friday.DPS Kalyanpur finished second with eight points, while The Chintels School, Kalyanpur, secured third place with six points. As many as 90 students from 18 schools participated in the event, which was conducted over five rounds.
