Vadodara: A State Reserve Police (SRP) jawan died by suicide at his residence in the city on Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Suman Rathwa (44), a resident of Dabhoi Road, who was posted in the city.According to police, Rathwa went into his room and allegedly hanged himself using a piece of cloth. The reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained. However, preliminary inquiry revealed that he had been suffering from a spinal ailment for a long time and was undergoing treatment. He had also been on leave for several months.Rathwa is survived by his wife and four children.This is the second such incident involving a police personnel in the city within a month. On March 4, Priyanka Prajapati, a woman constable posted at Kapurai police station, died by suicide at her residence on Ajwa Road. She was reportedly on leave and preparing for sub-inspector examinations at the time.
