Kolkata: Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) is finalising plans to ensure both faculty and students gain maximum exposure at the upcoming International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. If the plans materialise, SRFTI might get a special branding and faculty members could conduct short courses or classes for delegates at the fest. The 57th edition of IFFI will be held from Nov 20-28. Despite ongoing challenges, preparations are underway to provide students with exposure and integrate faculty members from SRFTI Kolkata and FTII Arunachal Pradesh into the operation and execution of master classes. Similar to last year, select alumni batches from SRFTI will receive recognition during the event.VC Santosh Ajmera told TOI that IFFI serves as a major platform. “Being a part of that festival is a dream for every film-maker. With just over a month remaining, we will soon invite students and faculty members from SRFTI Kolkata and FTII Arunachal Pradesh to file and express their willingness to be a part of IFFI. Being an institution of repute, we will definitely want our presence felt at IFFI. There is a wonderful talent pool at both places at SRFTI Kolkata and FTI, Itanagar campus. Being a part of film festivals will be mutually beneficial for all stakeholders,” Ajmera said.
