Srinagar, Oct 13: Member of Parliament from Anantnag–Rajouri, Mian Altaf Ahmad, on Tuesday expressed grief over a devastating fire in the Shahbad area of Anantnag district that damaged residential structures, leaving several families homeless.
In a statement, the MP expressed solidarity with the affected families, describing the incident as tragic and saying the loss of homes and property had pushed them into distress.
Mian Altaf urged the district administration and government authorities to immediately initiate relief and rehabilitation measures for the victims.
He also called for an urgent assessment of the losses and the disbursement of adequate compensation, along with a rehabilitation package to help affected families rebuild their homes.
