Kanpur: Food security & drug administration team on Tuesday evening raided a spice factory in Panki industrial area and seized adulterated turmeric powder worth Rs 5.86 lakhs and collected six samples of product. The team found the manufacturer was mixing colour in rice powder and selling that in the name of turmeric powder.The team collected a total of six samples from the site, including turmeric powder, liquid coloring used in turmeric, broken rice grains, chili powder, coloring agents used in chili, and coriander powder. Samples are being sent to food analyst lab for examination. FSDA team also raided a flour mill in the Rama Devi area and seized flour worth around Rs 1.5 lakh for allegedly repacking flour of other brands and selling it under its own name and brand.
