Nagpur: Police have busted a spurious medicine racket and registered a case against a pharmaceutical firm and multiple distributors for allegedly storing and selling fake drugs.During a raid at a pharmaceutical company in Shantinagar, Drug Inspector Prashant Ramteke seized counterfeit stocks of the life-saving medicine ‘Alburel’, which is administered to critically ill patients.Investigators said the prime accused conspired with distributors operating from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Hyderabad, along with Danish Khan from Delhi, Rajukumar Mishra from Chandigarh, and others, to circulate the fake medicines between September 19 and Dec 17, 2025.A case has been registered at Shantinagar Police Station under Sections 318(4), 336(3), 340(2), 278 and 60(3)(5) of the IPC. Further investigation is underway.
